FROM ORPHAN TO OXFORD: VARIDSO VEE KATIVU Many people have put several limitations on themselves because of their gender, race, ethnicity, religion or circumstances beyond their control. They look down on themselves and leave their dreams to dust, but not for Varidso Vee Kativu. Instead of wallowing in self-pity because of the lemons life gave her, she made lemonade. Varisdso Vee Felistus Kativu was born on the 11 th of April, 1998, in Zimbabwe, Africa. Growing up was not easy as she lost her father at the tender age of 2 years. While her mother relocated to England, she was tagged an orphan. Her mother was still alive, but she grew up in a society where women were not seen as anything, so losing one's father was as good as losing both parents. At a tender age, Vee strove to become someone, even with her negatively tagged name. When she turned seven, her mother came back to relocate her children to England.
